On the 4th of september we are honored to host Yu Kawabata
Japan-based industrial and hard techno artist born in Nara — a city where ancient spirituality meets radical futurism. Emerging from a culture shaped by discipline, elegance, and quiet rebellion, she channels both heritage and rupture into her sound. Rooted in industrial and hard techno, her sets are driven by a fierce rock and punk spirit — raw, uncompromising, and emotionally charged. Blending mechanical textures, gothic atmospheres, black metal intensity, and structural precision influenced by classical music, Yu crafts ritualistic yet explosive journeys on the dancefloor. Performing in latex as a self-defined “techno warrior,” she merges fetish aesthetics with performance art and high-impact DJing. The booth becomes a site of transformation — where sound, body, and atmosphere collide.
Her work has expanded internationally across Asia and Europe, with appearances in Taiwan, China, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Greece, Romania, Georgia, Lithuania, Switzerland and Ukraine, steadily building a cross-continental presence.
Whether in underground clubs or large-scale raves, her performances generate a distinct atmosphere: intense, cinematic, and deeply immersive. Yet her mission goes beyond sonic force. Yu believes the energy created on the dancefloor extends beyond the venue. Through her sets, she aims to empower everyone present — dancers, organizers, artists, and crew — transforming sound into fuel for resilience, courage, and positivity. For her, music is not escape; it is propulsion. In Yu Kawabata’s universe, hard techno becomes a catalyst — a force capable of igniting individual strength and radiating collective energy into the world.
