Seku @ Green Hours
SEKU is the new project of trumpeter Sergiu Bivol, marking his first concert as a solo artist — a fully original musical universe, shaped and led by him.
The name SEKU, derived from his own name and carrying an Asian resonance, reflects both the aesthetic direction of the project and the quartet format — a space where trumpet, piano, bass and drums engage in living dialogue.
The music explores contemporary modern jazz, blending influences from artists such as Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Ibrahim Maalouf and Roy Hargrove, while also drawing inspiration from the literary universe of Haruki Murakami — particularly the novel 1Q84, echoed in the composition “Two Moons”.
Sergiu is also known as a member of 7thSense and has performed at major festivals such as Green Hours JAZZ Fest, Gărâna Jazz Festival, JazzTM and Jazz in the Park.
He is joined on stage by:
– Ștefan Stoianovici – Jazz pianist and classical composer, known for his work in both fields.
– Lucas Contreras – Guitarist and a member of 7thSense also active in numerous projects on the local scene.
– Cristi Florea – Drums, a rising player in jazz, recognized for his refined technique and musicality.
SEKU invites the audience to an intimate evening of original compositions, where improvisation becomes storytelling and music unfolds in real time.
