Dry Cleaning (UK) @ Control Club
English post-punks Dry Cleaning will perform for the first time in Bucharest – May 31 at Control Club. The band is currently on tour promoting their latest release, Swampy.
Formed in South London in 2017, Dry Cleaning is composed of vocalist Florence Shaw, guitarist Tom Dowse, bassist Lewis Maynard and drummer Nick Buxton. They are noted for their use of spoken word primarily in lieu of sung vocals, as well as their unconventional lyrics. Their musical style has been compared to Wire, Magazine and Joy Division.
Swampy, the new EP from Dry Cleaning, is out now. Serving as a companion release to last year’s critically acclaimed second LP, Stumpwork, the five-track EP includes recent singles ‘Swampy’ and ‘Sombre Two’, a demo of song ‘Peanuts’ and remixes from Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul and Nourished By Time.
