This October, CreativeMornings Timișoara is going up with JAZZx FORWARD.
For this special edition, we’re joined by percussionist and drummer 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽 𝗚𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗻, whose work brings together classical music, contemporary jazz and world music.
A graduate of the National University of Music Bucharest, the Young Masters programme at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and with a Master’s degree in Jazz Composition from UNMB, Philip has performed with the George Enescu Philharmonic, Radio Chamber Orchestra, Radio Romania Big Band and Romanian Film Orchestra.
He is also part of projects such as Amphitrio, Luiza Zan Quintet and Răzvan Florescu Quintet, and has performed at festivals including Gărâna Jazz, Baku Jazz Festival, Untold, Electric Castle and Jazz in the Park.
His work has been recognised with awards including Album of the Year at the Radio România Cultural Awards for Amphitrio’s Timelines, First Prize at the JazzBook Jazz Competition and Best Composition at Jazz in the Park Competition.
Beyond performing, Philip develops interdisciplinary cultural projects such as What Freedom Sounds Like, In My Village Symphonic, Cine-Concert Days and New Voices of the Big Band. Since 2025, he is also an official SONOR Artist.
For our GOING UP edition, we’ll be talking about perspective, creativity, music and the different places you can reach when you allow yourself to look at things differently.
