Celebrated violinist Maxim Vengerov, whom many regard as the greatest violinist alive today, performs a special gala concert with the Romanian National Philharmonic Orchestra.
It will be a tremendous experience to hear him perform contemporary composer Alexey Shor’s beautifully sublime Seascapes, followed by the glittering, ethereal qualities of Prokofiev’s First Violin Concerto.
Preceding Vengerov’s performance, the the Romanian National Philharmonic Orchestra (the touring name of the Brasov Philharmonic) conducted by Sergey Smbatyan, will play Sibelius’ majestic Karelia Suite and Shor’s newly-commissioned Symphonic Prelude, with Tchaikovsky’s powerful and emotionally-charged Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture rounding off the evening.
‘One of the most brilliant violinists you’ll ever hear’ (The Washington Post on Maxim Vengerov)
