When Khidja plays an all nighter it’s a thing of beauty. Always edging on the odd and absurd, they are never interested to tell a single comprehensive story. Their sets are collections of sketches that radiate across their whole musical universe. Some linked to others, some making more or less sense.
Always looking to press the flesh. Searching for reactions within the crowd. Looking for magic.
Khidja comes back as a duo and plays PW all night long on the last day of Summer.
Khidja have been creative partners and working as a duo for 20 years. Opposite personalities that modulate into one entity. In more recent periods they felt the urge to transpose themselves into a different octave enforced by more wonderful machines that accurately represent their musical taste today.
Part of the production stays true to their love for records made in the past, when music was created by people who had studied their instrument for a lifetime and part of it explores new areas, in quite the opposite corner: soundscape composing, modern electronics, rare one hit wonders, new wave, industrial, house and techno. Their DJ sets will be nothing short of this. Their live performances will involve working multiple machines to recreate their tracks live. A part of their shows will always be improvised.
