Dragoș Ilici’s July residency at PW finally brings over one of his long-desired guests.
Touring Europe this Summer and checking in as the second influential figure of the Montevideo scene we’re inviting in a single month comes Uruguayan veteran selector and inspirational underground figure, DJ Koolt.
It’s kind of a rare feat so add July 19th in your party calendar with a thick red font.
Certain DJs manage to go beyond the barrier of just playing music and achieve the capability to create a microuniverse which radiates a certain energy. It’s a result of mixing an otherworldly music selection, precisely adjusted to each moment, and by showing exquisite technique while mixing. These features have marked Eduardo Cardozo aka DJ Koolt, a faithful record collector and vinyl only DJ, since his very beginnings as one of the greatest exponents of the Uruguayan underground scene.
European recognition came soon after by playing almost all legendary clubs and parties. Fuse, Fabric, Closer, Cartulis, Concrete, RED58, OHM, Hoppetosse, Goa are just a few on an almost neverending list.
Playing for 20 friends at an obscure after-hours or for thousands at a hyped festival is the same for Edu. He can easily be recognized by a single natural characteristic of his: the connection and the trance he is able to cultivate within his audiences.
