A night of books, translations and conversations spills onto the neighbouring Edgar Quinet street in the eve of Thursday, September 17, but after that is over we keep the energy going at Control.
Expect things to turn into a late-night gathering in the Front Room, where two long-standing Bucharest voices take us somehow deeper.
JIJIAN
Jijian has been shaping Romania’s techno landscape for over two decades. His sets move through ambient textures, long synth lines and beautiful harmonies, with a particular affection for the analogue imagination of the 1970s. Complex, patient and deeply coherent, his sound has a way of making time feel pleasantly fleeting.
BORUSIADE
Borusiade, or Boru aka Miruna Boruzescu, has been part of Bucharest’s alternative club culture since 2002. Classically trained and originally educated in film direction, she folds er cinematic views into raw electronics, building a sound that is dark, melodic and precise. From Cómeme and Correspondant to Cititrax, Unterton, Pinkman and Dark Entries, her releases draw a red thread across electro, industrial and hypnotic electronics.
