Nopame
“House music with all kinds of afro and funky ingredients”
Nopame is a vibrant musical ensemble blending house music with Afro and funky elements, characterized by their infectious energy and groovy vibes. The band’s inception traces back to the winter of 2013 when Melak Cristian and Norbert Halmagyi initiated a percussion jam session. Recognizing the need to complement their rhythmic foundation with melodic elements, they sought out a saxophonist, eventually finding Paolo Profeti at the Bucharest Jazz Festival.
Their debut performance at a Bucharest day bar was spontaneous and captivating, quickly drawing a crowd and igniting a lively atmosphere. Nopame’s music exudes warmth and enthusiasm, leading some to speculate whether their magnetic presence stems from their musical prowess or their genuine camaraderie.
