On Friday, November 22, Room 2 welcomes two enticing international acts with a diverse array of dancefloor ready selections: Richard Marshall and DJ Always Tired.

A fixture on the Cape Town and South African circuit since the turn of the century, Richard Marshall is one of South Africa’s hardest working DJs. With residencies spanning nearly every club the city has opened since his fledgling days and an impressive roster of bookings he did as Wolfkop Weekender’s boutique festival as a co-founder and organiser, he’s a prominent force to be reckoned with.

His 20+ year DJ career insures he specialises in classic genres of dance music like house, garage and jungle. Find him playing his signature sound of melodious, left-of-centre house and techno music, with a fair margin for mash-ups across the country. His record collection is enviable to say the least.

Now residing in London, Richard Marshall has been a regular fixture in DJ booths across the US and Europe since 2016. He is a resident music programmer for the Secret Garden Party in the UK and has a monthly show on Ibiza’s OpenLab radio where only electronic music from the African continent is on offer.

A fresh face in the electronic music scene, DJ Always Tired is a half Greek-half Romanian record collector and dancer who slowly morphed into DJing. Currently based in Berlin, she mostly swings between electro, breakbeat, minimal techno, but you can also find her delve into ambient-downtempo soundscapes at various radio shows and festivals.

Whether you’re a dedicated audiophile or simply looking for something new, her sets promise an eclectic auditory adventure you won’t want to miss.
